How Drive-Thrus Make Money (It's A LOT)
Do you know what your store actually recorded the last time somebody asked you to pull forward? Ever wondered why a coffee chain would build a shop with thirty two seats and no real reason for them? And is seven seconds really worth one per cent of a market?
This is how drive thrus actually make money, and why the clock stops when your car moves rather than when your food arrives.

What we left out
Claims we found and could not stand behind, so they are not in the video.
That any chain uses the waiting bay to beat its own timer. The timer manual shows how the measurement can end early, but no investigation, chain admission or franchisee statement shows it being done, so the video describes the mechanism and stops there.
McDonald's taking 70% of its sales through the drive-thru. That figure traces to a 2020 pandemic-era one-sheet, not a filing, and no current filing states a percentage.
A count of drive-thru lanes in the US. The widely repeated 200,000 locations and 6 billion visits trace to an aggregator, not a research house.
